Zazie was born to a cabinet maker in Berlin in Germany in the year 1991. Her father, an German cabinetmaker who moved to America United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is her mother a South African American social worker. Jennifer Aniston also graduated from her high school. Beetz was a student at Skidmore College to study French following her graduation from LaGuardia. The auditions began shortly following graduation, and she was then offered the role in Atlanta. Beetz, who was born in Berlin and was raised by the father of a German American and an African American mother in New York, spoke both German as well as English in her home. Zazie has been performing in theatres within the community as well as on stage in New York throughout her early years. Zazie discovered that she enjoyed acting while in school.
